Crop & agrochemical processing studies
Crop processing studies assess residue levels for a plant protection or agrochemical product after treated crops have undergone usual industrial and domestic food processing.
These studies give a more realistic assessment of dietary intake and can supply information on production of a potentially toxic breakdown or reaction products during processing.
Studies are designed in accordance with guidelines such as OECD TG 508 or OPPTS 860,15 to demonstrate compliance with regulatory maximum residue levels (MLR) or tolerances. The required food processing methods are identified and carried out (at reduced scale if relevant) before performing residue analysis.
