OECD 410/OCSPP 870,32: Dermal toxicity study (repeated does, 21/28-day)

OECD 410/OCSPP 870,32 is a validated short-term test to identify health hazards of dermal application of a solid or liquid test substance. This method is composed of two tests (main and limit) and is intended for use with the adult rat, rabbit or guinea pig. The test chemical is repeatedly applied for several hours each day, over not less than 10 percent of the body surface area, for 21 or 28 days. The results this test can provide include hematology, clinical biochemistry, urinalysis, gross necropsy and histopathology. This test provides information on the effects of repeated exposure, can indicate the need for further longer-term studies and provides information on dosing.
